Signed, Sealed, (Not Yet) Delivered

The great furniture hunt is over. At an antiques store we found a beautiful mahogany bookcase and what the antique store called a “washstand” but looks to me like a little cabinet with a top drawer and two doors below. We then toddled on over to Ethan Allen and I fulfilled one of my life-long dreams of owning a piece of furniture decorated with brass nail heads. The couch (and chair and ottoman and coffee table) are not here yet, but they are ordered, fabrics have been chosen, nail head finishes decided on (I’m an old-fashioned girl who prefers brass to silver), and hopefully we will soon (I use “soon” loosely and in the how-long-does-it-take-to-upholster-a-couch sense) have living room furniture!

Awesome!!!! It's so exciting to pick out nice furniture that you know you'll have a long time. There is something comforting in the permanence, like you finally have a "home" where the decorating is intentional. And I love Ethan Allen. My furntiure is from there, too. Post pics when you get it delivered!
